Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 Release Date: MWC 2017 with Snapdragon 820, S Pen, and more

Samsung Galaxy Tab S3

Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 is the company’s upcoming flagship Android tablet – all set for an unveiling during MWC 2017 later this month on February 26. The Korean manufacturer has officially confirmed it wouldn’t announce its Galaxy S8 flagship at the event. Instead, the company is likely to announce the upgraded Galaxy Tab S3 tablet.

Now a leaked manual of the tablet reveals interesting bits of information about the upcoming tablet. Notably, the fact that it’s expected to bring some S Pen functionality. The S-Pen isn’t a typical stylus, as it’s capable of offering much more advanced features giving users more productivity on the go.

Besides, even screenshots of the rumored Galaxy Tab S3 were posted on GalaxyClub, revealing the design, along with the UX and features we can expect on the upcoming tablet. The leaked screenshots suggest the tablet would pack two speakers at the bottom, bundled with two speakers at the top. These four speakers are likely to boost the overall audio experience while watching TV shows or streaming YouTube videos.

The manual further reveals features and connectivity options such as a SIM card slot, a fingerprint sensor on the Home button, along with a Power button the side. Besides, the leak also shows the keyboard dock, along with the placement of the rear camera and GPS antennas.

The device is also said to offer a Secure Folder feature, designed to protect your sensitive data such as documents, photos, notes, and apps. The leak also reveals a Screen Off Memo feature for drawing or taking notes on the screen using the S Pen, even when the device is off or on StandBy. Besides, users can also move the S-Pen above the display to open Air Command panel for taking notes, writing, drawing, and more.

However, it appears that the S Pen won’t come bundled with the Galaxy Tab S3. Instead, it could be offered as an external accessory as it seems the tablet is devoid of a dedicated S Pen slot.

Samsung  Galaxy Tab 3 to come with high-end specs

Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 would be the company’s upcoming flagship Android tablet featuring top-of-the-line specs and build quality. The tablet is said to boast a 9.6-inch display with a resolution of 2048×1536 pixels.

Under the hood, the Galaxy Tab S3 is said to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 processor bundled with 4GB of RAM. The device will run Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box.

Also, the Galaxy Tab S3 would come with the latest USB-Type C port for charging and data transfer, a feature that’s fast becoming the standard in recent smartphone launches. It’s also said to feature UFS 2.0
flash storage.

For now, information about the tablet’s battery is still a mystery, though we expect it to be larger than the 5870mAh battery of its predecessor.

As far as cameras go, the Galaxy Tab S3 is likely to feature a 12MP primary camera, along with a 5MP front-facing camera.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S3: Release Date, Price, and Availability

The Galaxy Tab S3 recently got certified by FCC, which only means that the tablet is close to its final release. The upcoming tablet will come in two variants – an LTE model along with a Wi-Fi-only variant. The GalaxyTab S3 is expected to be thinner than its predecessor and might be announced during Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on February 26.

As far as pricing and release date goes, SamMobile cites a report from a Lorean publication which suggests that the Tab S3 could go on sale in March and is expected to cost $600. However, as with all the rumors, it remains to be seen if that is indeed the case.
