Rumors of the upcoming Galaxy S8 are pouring in thick and fast of late, and now a leak suggests that Samsung’s next flagship may get a new feature dubbed as the ‘Beast Mode’.

Initially reported by Netherlands based blog Galaxy Club, Beast Mode was spotted in an EU trademark application. The forthcoming Galaxy S8 is also said to be the first smartphone to pack the next-gen Snapdragon 835 processor.

And if this turns out to be true, it’s highly likely that Beast Mode could significantly enhance the smartphone’s overall performance. Put simply, it appears to be some kind of a Turbo mode that would push the device’s performance to its threshold.

Besides, another leak suggests that the Galaxy S8 will feature an optical fingerprint scanner built within the display and not anywhere on the phone’s body.

In addition, past leaks also suggest the upcoming Galaxy S8 to get Bluetooth 5.0, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor bundled with 8GB of RAM, stereo speakers. That said, it won’t get the standard 3.5 mm jack, instead, it’ll feature the latest USB Type C standard.

With the Galaxy Note 7 debacle, which forced Samsung to initiate a global recall after multiple instances of the device blowing up were reported all across the globe, the Korean manufacturer is under immense pressure to restore public faith and confidence.

The company is now banking upon the success of the next Galaxy S8 to showcase its strengths as one of the top smartphone brands across the globe. And putting the latest cutting-edge technologies would certainly help the Korean manufacturer to counter the bad publicity, provided it doesn’t blow up.

In other related news, the Korean manufacturer is now offering a $120 holiday discount on the Galaxy S7 and the larger Galaxy S7 Edge, for a limited time period. The Galaxy S7 can now be bought for $549.99, while the Galaxy S7 Edge is now available at $649.99.
