Nokia 6 goes on sale in the US early July: All you need to know

Showcased at MWC 2017 earlier this year, the Nokia 6 is all set to arrive in the US this July. The smartphone will be an Amazon exclusive and sell at a modest price tag of $229. HMD Global, the company who has the rights to sell Nokia branded handsets has officially confirmed that its Nokia 6 Android flagship will be available for purchase in the US in the beginning of July.

The company has also stated that the smartphone will be fully compatible with T-Mobile, while it’ll work to a certain extent on AT&T’s network as bands 29 and 30 are not supported. Other CDMA networks including Sprint and Verizon won’t support the Nokia 6 when it launches in the US.

Nokia 6: Specs and Features

The handset features a 5.5-inch Full HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection with 2.5D curved glass. Under the hood, the smartphone gets powered by a Snapdragon 430 processor bundled with 3GB of RAM and Adreno 505 GPU. In the camera department, the Nokia 6 packs a 16MP primary camera along with an 8MP front-facing shooter for selfies.

In the US, the Nokia 6 will pack 32GB of inbuilt storage which is further expandable up to 256GB via microSD slot. Juicing up the smartphone is a 3000mAh battery. Also, the smartphone runs Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box. Not to forget, the Nokia 6 also comes with a fingerprint scanner along with a 3.5mm jack.

Other highlights of the device include a 6000 series aluminum body, dual speakers with Dolby Atmos support. In terms of connectivity, the handset comes with Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC, 4G, NFC, along with USB OTG support. As for color options, the smartphone will be offered in a choice of Black and Silver color options. That said, two more color choices will arrive in the near future in the form of Blue and Copper.

To recall, HMD Global unveiled the Nokia 6 alongside the Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 handsets during the annual Mobile World Congress in February this year. The Finnish company, however, is yet to confirm whether the Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 smartphones will also be released in the US.
