Apple MacBook Pro 2016 release date, price, features: Things you should know

Apple is expected to launch the next-generation MacBook Pro within the end of this year with a lot of interesting additions.  The upcoming MacBook will come in the usual 13-inch and 15-inch models. A new generation of Intel Processors will make the upcoming Macs more powerful as well as increase their power efficiency in comparison to the present generation. The Cupertino giant is scheduled to revamp its iPhone series early next month. It can be possible that the company unveils the new MacBook Pro at the same event or may be a month later in October.

MacBook Pro 2016 Design: No 3.5 mm Audio Jack

We are almost certain that Apple will ditch the 3.5 mm headphone port in their next generation iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus or Pro. It is speculated that the upcoming MacBook may also be a part of the trend and skip the traditional headphone port. If this happens for real, then we may see an addition of the lightning port on the Mac which will handle the audio output.

MacBook Pro 2016 Display: OLED Touch Panel

One of the most exciting features of the upcomingMac is the innovative OLED Touch Panel. This strip of touchscreen display is presumed to replace the hardware function keys at the top of the keypad. This will come with more capabilities rather than just doing the job of the Function Keys. Apple is expected to customize this to show interactive notifications in a more efficient way. This may also be used to show clock and control music playback without the need to switch on the primary display.

The MacBook Pro 2016 is expected to sport 2304 x 1440 resolution which is just a little bit less than QHD (2560 x 1440) resolution. Apple may surprise us by roping in an even higher resolution 4K display in its upcoming flagship range of Notebooks.

MacBook Pro 2016 Features: USB Type-C, Thunderbolt 3

This year’s MacBook is presumed to come with four latest USB Type-C ports for faster data transfers. USB Type-C ports also have the capability of high voltage power input, so you may expect to charge your Mac through any of these ports. The notebook will also feature the new generation Apple Thunderbolt 3 port. According to reports from KGI Analysts, a Touch ID button may be added to new MacBook Pro, with the fingerprint scanner built into the power button.

MacBook Pro 2016: Lighter Construction, Slimmer Dimension

The MacBook Pro 2016 is expected to feature Apple’s signature design language with a full Aluminium construction. The upcoming Notebook will possibly sport the butterfly hinge and is speculated to lose some weight. The new Mac will also have a slimmer profile than its predecessors.

MacBook Pro 2016 Touchpad with Stylus Support

The touchpad of the upcoming notebook is rumored to feature Touch Force technology. This will be similar to the 3D Touch feature in Apple’s latest iPhones. The trackpad will have the capability of detecting the amount of pressure applied, which may give rise to some interesting features. The touchpad is also speculated to come with an inbuilt digitizer for supporting input from Styluses.

MacBook Pro 2016 Processor: Intel Kaby Lake Processor

The MacBook Pro 2016 may be one of the first notebooks in the world to be powered by the upcoming Intel Kaby Lake SoCs. These are expected to have better performance and greater power efficiency than the present Intel Skylake chips. Kaby Lake natively supports second generation USB 3.1 with a transfer speed as high as 10gb/s. The chipset is also compatible with Thunderbolt 3 by default,

The next generation AMD Polaris GPUs are expected to be housed inside the forthcoming MacBook Pros. The graphics cards are manufactured using the advanced 14 nm FinFET process and will provide extreme performance with excellent power efficiency.

MacBook Pro 2016 Price

Considering the exorbitant prices of Apple’s products, the cost of their MacBook Notebooks has always been somewhat reasonable. The MacBook Pro 2016 is presumed to be priced from around $1549 or £1,199 up to $1800 or £1,399 for the 13-inch model. The bigger 15-inch variant may cost somewhere between $2060 or £1,599 and $2580 or £1,999. Please note these are not final prices and just an approximate amount to give an idea about original retail costs.
