Android 8.0 Oreo based Nokia 9 specs revealed in FCC documents

nokia 9 1

As per reports, some of the specifications of the Nokia 9 have been revealed via the FCC documents. This phone marks the latest device in the revived Nokia lineage with predecessors Nokia 6 and the Nokia 8 as the flagship. The reports reveal that the phone shall carry a 5.5-inch OLED display that has been manufactured by LG while the predecessor Nokia 8 has IPS LCD display. It has been built around the same size as the Appleā€™s iPhone X and Samsung S8. The 5.5-inch screen size is larger than the 5.3-inch screen of Nokia 8.

The Nokia 9 shall be built upon Snapdragon 835 SoC while housing a 128GB storage capacity as opposed to the 64GB in Nokia 8. The dual camera trend shall be introduced in the Nokia 9 with two 12 MP sensors located in the rear end accompanied by a 5 MP front camera. The device houses large battery power with 3250mAh battery along with a 18W fast charging option. Given the 4GB RAM in Nokia 8, the Nokia 9 is expected to have the same or better RAM capacity. Nokia 8 lacks numerous features such as total water resistance, slim design or edge-to-edge display which should define any flagship phone. The Nokia 9 might fix this shortcoming.

Nokia 9 shall be the seventh in line smartphone that has been released by HMD Global which began with the affordable Nokia 2. As Microsoft failed to brand Nokia as Windows phone, this Finland based company gained a 10-year long license of reviving the old stature of Nokia in the market.

For a decent phone, Nokia 8 comes at a price of $700 which is too expensive. HMD is expected to lower down its price with better features in Nokia 9. It is expected to launch under the Android Oreo which started with Nokia 8.
