Lenovo Smartphones to get Android 4.4.2 KitKat Update

While slashing the retail price of Vibe X Smartphone from Rs 25,999 to Rs 22,999, Chinese device manufacturer – Lenovo announced the roll out of Android 4.4.

KitKat update for its flagship smartphones (Vibe X and Vibe Z). The move from the company comes after Xolo confirmed KitKat update for a few of its smartphones, recently.

The new Android 4.4 KitKat update will be released in phase wise manner.All the Smartphone owners are recommended to connect either of the phones over Wi-Fi and then download the update.

Lenovo Vibe X packs 5-inch full HD display and features 6.9 mm thick profile. It is powered by quad-core 1.5 Ghz MediaTek MT6589T mobile chipset.

On the other hand, the Vibe Z smartphone features 5.5-inch large full HD display, powered by the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 mobile processor.

It is likely that Android 4.4.2 KitKat update will bring in various enhancements to both smartphones.

For the Vibe X smartphone, the company vows to offer better application compatibility and security enhancements as well as bug fixes.

Certain changes in the UI are expected coupled with better camera performance to offer better images through enhanced auto-focus and white balance.

Apart from the above the change log accommodates certain enhancements made to the Lenovo power manager tool, upgraded for good battery efficiency and the overall performance.

So far, Lenovo Vibe Z is concerned, the smartphone will receive a noticeable performance boost with better 4k video playback capability and others.

In addition, Lenovo is expected to throw in a multi-window mode where two applications can be accessed simultaneously and even resized, simultaneously.

The update as mentioned earlier will be rolled out in phases. The new price for the Vibe X has been reflected on the company’s online store.
