Nokia may release a new Windows Phone 8 smartphone of Lumia series with a bigger screen to compete in phablet market with Samsung’s Galaxy Note series and upcoming phablets of HTC and Sony.
The race of releasing smartphones with bigger screens is gaining pace day by day. With Samsung Galaxy Note 3 releasing on September 4th, HTC’s 5.9-inches screen One Max, and Sony Xperia Z Ultra with 6.3-inches screen Phablets are coming soon, Nokia is now also planning to release a big screen Lumia Windows Phone 8 Phablet.
It is said that the new Windows Phone 8 GDR2 update will bring full native support to FULL-HD 1080p displays. The new Nokia Lumia Phablet is said to have 5.5-inches of Full HD Super AMOLED display, snapdragon quad core processor, 2GB RAM, 13 Megapixel PureView camera with Nokia Smart Camera app, 2Megapixel front facing camera, and 32GB internal storage option with external MicroSD card support.
Nokia is also planning to release some extra apps to increase the usability of bigger screen of Phablet. One such app will allow users to draw and write using their fingers on phone screen.
Nokia has planned a press event on 26-27th September in New York city and has sent press invites with very less details mentioned on the invitation, but market analysts has forecasted that Nokia will either release a Lumia series Windows Phone 8 Phablet or Windows Tablet. Nokia will also unveil more details about Amber firmware update, which is due for number of Lumia series smartphones. The Nokia Lumia 925 and Lumia 1020 smartphones will come with Amber firmware update pre-installed at the time of release.
Samsung has marked 4th September as the Galaxy Note 3 release date at IFA Berlin, Germany. The 3rd generation Galaxy Note Phablet is said to have 5.7-inch Full-HD display screen, an Octa-core processor, 2GB RAM, 13-Megapixel camera, 2-Megapixel front camera, and some new S-Pen features with better AirView support features.
It would be exciting to see how Nokia Lumia Windows Phone 8 phablet will be able to attract customers over Samsung Galaxy Note 3, HTC One Max, and Sony Xperia Z Ultra.
