The Search Engine Giant, Google is preparing to launch a new version of its Nexus 7 tablet. The Company is also eying to ship 8 million units of the device in the second half of 2013. The latest version of the Android operated tablet will be hitting the shelves for sales by the end of July 2013. The new Nexus 7 will be markedly different from its predecessor.
The next Nexus 7 from Google will be thinner than the earlier versions of the device. The Nexus 7 next gen will also feature a display of higher resolution and will be powered by a Qualcomm Processor. The Next Gen Nexus 7 will also be made by Asus. Reuters has reported that the Search Engine Giant has not decided upon the price of the Next Gen Nexus 7.
However Google is officially yet to make a public release about its next version of its Nexus 7. It is rumored that Google will stick to the old price of the Nexus 7 which is $199. It is also possible that Google may sell the older versions of the Nexus 7 at a discounted price with the arrival of the new model.
Google had introduced its first tablet in June 2013. Fresh from the success of its Smartphone, Google had launched the Nexus 7 tablet, a segment which is dominated by iPad and Kindle. Apple had also launched its iPad Mini and is believed to launch a sequel, the iPad Mini 2 this year.
Well known Fubon Security Analyst Arthur Liao, was speaking to Reuters and pointed out that 97% of the revenues which Google earns comes from advertisements, so it needs to sell more mobile devices to reach a wider target audience.
