The launch of the Galaxy S4 by Samsung has brought into focus a number of features which has never been seen in any other device before. For people who are impressed by the new gadget and made up their mind to go for it, there is no problem. However for those consumers who have just purchased a Galaxy S3 or a Galaxy Note 2, it will lead to a lot of heartburn.
However such users should not lose heart since there is something very nice coming for such consumers. According to a top Samsung official, the Galaxy S3 will soon have features akin to Galaxy S4 after a forthcoming update. Users who have recently bought the Galaxy Note 2 and the Galaxy S3 will get a feel of the S4.
Samsung Vice President, Nick DiCarlo, was speaking on the side lines of the launch of Galaxy S4 said that the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 will get updates shortly which will augment many features to the level of Galaxy S4.
The changes which will be effected will have certain limitation for example the display and the camera features will not be changed. Certain new applications like the S Health and TV remote will not be available due to the paucity of pedometer and Infra Red port as hardware.
The update which will prune some of the features of the Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3 is the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. The Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean will be featured on the Galaxy S4 but has not been made available to the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2. Once the S3 and Note 2 get the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean updates, users of the two devices will also get a feel of the Galaxy S4 features.
Some of the features which will be available for Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3 users include-
Dual Camera: Enable the user to use the camera simultaneously with picture-in-picture or split screen display options.
Smart Pause: The eye tracking feature of the Galaxy S4 will also be seen in the Galaxy Note 2 and the Galaxy S3. The feature envisages pausing the particular application when the user’s eye is removed from the screen.
Sound and Shot: A feature which records 9 second audio while the Picture is being shot
The Galaxy Note 2 has contributed a lot in increasing the revenues of Samsung and it was once touted to become the next flagship of the South Korean Company.
