Sony Xperia T Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OTA Update by Rogers

The Canadian wireless network carrier Rogers has started pushing the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update to its Sony Xperia T. The update brings the same features that are already there in AT&T and International variants. The update is delivered over-the-air.

The best feature that this update brings is the Google Now. It also brings the Sony Media applications such as WALKMAN, Movies and Album.  Improvements have been brought to the home screen, making it easier for you to use applications, widgets and shortcuts.

The app drawer allows you to send any file on the home screen. Just press and hold any particular file, and that’s it. Search function in app tray lets you search for any file with ease.

Camera app features an intuitive viewfinder. Just with a single tap of the screen, you can switch between back and front camera.

Many users have received the update. Make sure that your device is on stock Android 4.0.4 ICS ROM, in order to receive the update. If it is not so, then return to stock ROM. If you don’t want to do that, then better wait for the third-party developers to bring a custom ROM based on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.

In case, you have the stock ROM on your device, and still have not received the update, then give it some time. You will be getting it soon. You can also check for the update manually. Just navigate to Settings > About Phone > Software Updates, and then tap on check for updates.

If you have received and installed this update on your Sony Xperia T, then take some time to share your experience with us via comments.

I just got the update and honestly the only real difference I see is Google Now ( which is awesome by the way! ). The slide notification bar looks a bit cleaner too.
