BlackBerry 10 Apps: Skype for BlackBerry 10 announced

It was in the air from a long that Skype will be finding its way to upcoming BlackBerry 10 OS. As the BlackBerry 10 has been unveiled by company RIM (name changed, it’s BlackBerry now) today, this popular voice and video chatting software has found its way for this much awaited OS of company struggling in the field.

The rumors regarding this were rolling over the all corners of virtual world of web from quite some time. Skype has now stamped ‘approval’ to the rumors with its official words:

“We are excited about our plans to bring Skype to smartphones running the brand new BlackBerry 10 platform,” said Bob Rosin, VP & GM of Business Development for Microsoft‘s Skype division. “We are working closely with BlackBerry to ensure Skype runs great on BlackBerry 10 devices. This will give BlackBerry 10 users a great Skype experience, including free voice and video calling, sending instant messages and text messages, sharing photos, videos and files, and calling to landlines and mobiles at Skype’s low rates.”

Well the announcement of Skype is not a matter of surprise as all major apps will be finding their way for BlackBerry 10 in near future as this new OS is expected to do wonders and to gain a huge user base.

It would be interesting to see that whether the availability of such highly popular apps for BlackBerry 10 devices will convince the customers to pass by Android and iOS to grab the new BlackBerry 10 devices or not.
