Asus Android 4.1 Tablet MeMO Pad priced at $149, a good substitute to Google Nexus 7

CES 2013 is wrapped up but companies are still introducing their new products. Just after a week of official announcement of 7-inch Slate Acer Iconia B1 at $149, Asus has announced its budget tablet MeMO Pad. Matching the pace, Asus has tagged its budget tablet MeMO Pad ME172V with $149.asus-memo-pad-android-tablet

Asus MeMO Pad touts a 7 inch screen with 1,024X600.It runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS and has a 16GB of storage capacity. It is available in pink, gray and while colors for now.

It comes with pre-installed Google Play with easily accessible useful and interesting Android apps. Asus MeMO Pad ME172V is packed with some of its own useful programs along with the WebStorage service which provides 5GB online storage.

MeMO Pad ME172V is powered by VIA WM8950 processor clocked at 1GHz teamed up with a Mali-400 GPU. It lacks a rear camera but has a 1 mega pixel front facing camera. Wi-Ffi connectivity, 4270mAh battery are other salient feature of this budget tablet from Asus.

Asus MeMO is expected to hit the market shelves by April 2013. The Taiwanese maker Asus announces a couple of other tablet at CES 2013 too including Asus VivoTab Smart and Windows 8 based Asus Transformer Book.

Asus MeMO Pad boasts VIA WM8950 processor featuring just a single ARM Cortex-A9 CPU. The performance of MeMO Pad is still to be seen at a weaker chip.
