Nokia has just unveiled the latest Windows Phone 8 smartphone – The Nokia Lumia 620. With the launch of Lumia 620, Nokia has now a wide range of devices which caters to almost all the segments of the smartphone spectrum.
The latest device was unveiled by Marko Ahtisaari, Executive VP of Design at Nokia. He was speaking at the LeWeb conference taking place this week in Paris.
The Lumia 620 is a watered down version of the flagship Lumia 920 from Nokia. However it is not a pushover and features some good characteristics. The Lumia 620 has a 3.8 inch screen and also features 1 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor and Nokia’s ClearBlack display. The ClearBlack display helps the user to view the screen even in bright sunlight.
The Lumia 620 is available in exciting color combinations. Nokia has used a new color scheme for the casings of Lumia 620. The new color scheme basically involves overlaying a translucent layer over an opaque layer. This produces a completely new and exciting range of colors which is both bold and also gives an illusion of depth. In all seven colors are there with exchangeable shells. The models are available in both gloss and matte finishes.
According to Ahtisaari, “We knew there was space in the portfolio for something more compact, something that fit beautifully in the palm of the hand. But something that still had the camera, a solid camera, and the signature apps that Nokia is noted for. And as well we wanted something that would take our pure color story and just give it a burst of playfulness — mix it up a little bit.”
The emphasis on the compact factor of the Lumia 620 has led Nokia to prefer the softer and rounder edges as compared to the other Windows Phone 8 in its inventory.
The Lumia 620 has a speaker at its back and a 5 MP camera and also Nokia-specific Windows Phone 8 apps. This includes features such as SmartShoot, Cinemagraph, City Lens, Lenses, Maps, Music, Drive and Transport. The device also bears a front facing camera which is especially useful for making video calls.
Nokia Lumia 620 Price
The Lumia 620 carries a price tag of $249 and this happens to be the most economical Windows Phone 8 device in the market. The device will be shipped in January in the Asia- Pacific region followed by Middle East and Africa and thereafter in Europe and Canada.
