Remember how Google ran out of stocks of Nexus 4 and later Nexus 10 within a couple of minutes of its sale on the Play Store? Well the situation has been repeated with the stocks of T-Mobile Nexus 4 exhausting in a jiffy. Once the Play Store stocks had exhausted Google added the links of the T-Mobile website and bingo now T-Mobile stocks have also been exhausted. Is it sales or poor stock planning by Google? Only Google will be having the answers since both Google and Microsoft are very tight lipped about the quantum of sales. This is unlike their Apple brethren who lose no opportunity to trumpet their deeds and sales at the top of their voice.
Many reasoned that the exhaustion of the stocks of Nexus 4 from the Play Store could be due to the fact that the device was unlocked. However even a stiff two year contract did not deter the buyers from getting the T Mobile version of the Nexus 4. It is now official that the stocks have run out but consumers can give a try and look at the local stores hoping that some T Mobile retailer may have a couple of devices still in his inventory. However the prospects seem pretty bleak.
The T Mobile Nexus 4 comes with a price tag of $199 for the 16GB version after you sign a two-year contract. However paying an excess of $100 will give you an 8GB off contract Nexus 4 while the 16 GB off contract Nexus 4 carries a premium of $150 more than with Contract device. However even the contract of two years with the carrier has not deterred the buyers from buying the Nexus 4.
Few third party retailers are offering Google Nexus 4 unlocked for $400 at Amazon.com. If you want one for you, Amazon is your destination currently as Google Play Store and T-Mobile Store are out of stock.
Nexus features include 4.7-inch 1280-by-768 IPS True HD display with a pixel density of 320ppi, a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro 1.5 GHz quad-core CPU with 2GB of RAM, an 8MP rear camera and a 1.3MP 720p camera on the front. It features the latest Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS, as well as NFC and wireless charging capabilities. However it does not have 4G LTE wireless connectivity but we may soon see a 4G LTE enabled Nexus 4 before this festive season ends.
